With Disney announcing an October launch for the second season of “The Mandalorian,” it comes as little shock that the Mouse House has decided to stagger the releases of its major original series.
Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed that Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” will premiere on the Disney+ service in August, while their “WandaVision” series will hit in December. Specific dates have not been decided on at this time, though they will likely be early in said months.
Both will essentially bookend “Mandalorian” and overcome a problem Disney+ is currently facing with a distinct lack of a big-budget tentpole original series.
Meanwhile, the company’s rival Netflix has set a March 5th official premiere date for the upcoming ten-episode third season of the supernatural animated series “Castlevania,” based on the Konami video game franchise. A new poster for the new season has also been released below.
