Microsoft Studios’ 343 Industries, current developer of the “Halo” video game series, has done a deal with Pilgrim Media Group to develop a reality-competition eSports TV series based on the property.
Specifically the most recent title, “Halo 5: Guardians,” will serve as the basis for the project which is still in very early stages with no TV or digital distribution deals for the series at this point let alone a potential premiere date.
The “Halo” franchise has generated more than $5 billion in worldwide sales to date. Esports meanwhile is fast growing and will generate $493 million in revenue for this year, a figure expected to more than double in the next three years.
