Before “Game of Thrones” actress Sophie Turner scored the role of a young Jean Grey in Bryan Singer’s “X-Men: Apocalypse,” several other actresses were in contention for the part including Chloe Moretz, Hailee Steinfeld and Elle Fanning.
Alan Villanueva, a costume concept artist on this and many other blockbusters, reportedly did some early concept art with Fanning in mind for the role. The results have gone online and show a Jean Grey costume more faithful to Jim Lee’s depiction of the character in Chris Claremont’s 1991 X-Men series.
Also just released is an alternate design for Storm done by Phillip Boutte Jr. “X-Men: Apocalypse” will be available on DVD and Blu-ray from October 4th.
