Demian Bichir (“Che”) is set to star in the Irish indie drama “The Runway” for Fastnet Films says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story is based on the true story of a South American pilot who crashed near a town in County Cork in 1983. The townspeople came together to build a runway to get the pilot home and briefly inspired the nation.
Short-film director Ian Power, who also wrote the script, makes his directorial debut on the film. Kerry Condon (Rome) and Jaime Kierans co-star while Brendan McDonald and Macdara Kelleher will produce.
