Sam Rockwell and his “Iron Man 2” director Jon Favreau are set to re-team on the comic-book adaptation “Cowboys and Aliens” for DreamWorks Pictures says Indie London.
Based on the Platinum Studios graphic novel, the Old West-set story follows cowboys and Native Americans rising up against an alien invasion.
Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde and Harrison Ford are already cast. Rockwell will play a bar owner named Doc who joins in the pursuit of the aliens, a role reconceived and expanded after Rockwell expressed interest.
Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof penned the script and Favreau is directing. Shooting kicks off in June.
