Anson Mount On Possible Marvel Return

Marvel

“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” star Anson Mount may not be done yet with his commitments to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Prior to his entering the Trek universe as the Enterprise’s pre-Kirk captain, the former “Hell on Wheels” star landed the lead role in Marvel Television’s short-lived “Inhumans” TV series for ABC.

Critically derided and ratings-challenged, the series ultimately only lasted for eight episodes. Then, five years later, Mount reprised a variant of the role briefly for a cameo in last year’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”.

That variant was quickly killed off but indicated that Black Bolt and Mount’s portrayal are a part of the MCU. Thus the door is open for Mount to potentially return one day.

Speaking with Radio Times, Mount was asked about that possibility, and it turns out there has been some very early unofficial discussion about it:

“If the answer was yes, I wouldn’t be able to tell you – but the answer is no, so I can. I’ve had some informal conversations with the powers [at] Marvel, and it’s a conversation, but they’ve got their current phase that they need to do.”

Mount also is quite clear that he enjoyed playing the character and would happily return:

“I don’t know, we’ll see. I would love to jump back into the cowl and do it again. I love Black Bolt as a character.”

Marvel has made no indications about bringing back the Inhumans for further MCU adventures at this time.
