“Daredevil” Star Talks Filming During Strike

Netflix

The ongoing writer’s strike has impacted a number of Marvel Studios productions in recent weeks with the “Blade” and “Thunderbolts” films and the new “Wonder Man” series shutting down until the strike is over.

That said, plenty of others are still going such as the “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” series and “Captain America: New World Order” film – both of which were well into shooting by the time the strike began.

One that has only been semi-impacted is the new “Daredevil: Born Again” series. The drama/thriller show, which sees Netflix’s “Daredevil” stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio reprise their roles years later and was seen filming recently.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, D’Onofrio discussed how the situation is impacting the creation of the shoot’s lengthy 18-episode run.

“I wouldn’t call business as usual because we want to… Well, I’ll speak for myself. I want to be loyal to the writers and to the teamsters. We’ve been told that the company is going to work through. Our writers are on strike, so we have no writers at the moment, but we have our scripts, so that’s good.

As long as we’re doing it in a gracious way and everybody’s in agreement that we can work when we’re allowed to work and we’ll shut down when we should shut down. Out of respect for the teamsters and the writers and such, then that’s what we’re going to do. And so far, so good. It’s been going well.”

Cox and D’Onofrio reportedly spent time ahead of the start of production to ensure the scripts were in their best possible place. The show is expected to launch sometime next year.
