Out promoting the second season of “Chad Powers” on Hulu, writer Michael Waldron has talked about another high-profile project he’s been linked to – Marvel Studios’ “Nova”.
The property had been stuck in development as a potential Disney+ series for years, but then word came in July that the studio has decided to rework it as a feature film, with Waldron hired to pen the script.
Waldron has a bunch of Marvel experience, serving as head writer and executive producer on the “Loki” series and writing “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”.
Speaking with The Wrap, Waldron shared his enthusiasm for the character:
“I don’t know if I can say anything about anything I’m doing with Marvel. But I will say, I love Nova. I love Rich Rider. However, we expand the cosmic side of the MCU will be really cool.
The character spans a lot of generations, and I think maybe that’s why it’s taken some time to get him to the screen is figuring out where do you start that story? Do you start him on Earth? Do you start in space, as part of the Nova Corps? Whoever does it, I hope they do a good job.”
Then asked how “Avengers: Infinity War” saw the Nova Corps being wiped out and if the story would have to reckon with that, he responded: “They would have to reckon with that. Yeah… someone would have to reckon with that.”
