Marvel’s “Agatha” To Have Extended Run

Marvel

Broadway legend Patti LuPone has confirmed that the upcoming “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” TV series will clock in at an extended episode count reflective of its predecessor.

Both “WandaVision” and “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” sported nine episodes each, as compared to almost every other Marvel Studios series which had six-episode runs.

The key difference was that the nine-episode series were half-hour shows as opposed to the six-episode series with longer lengths.

Ultimately each of the show’s total runtimes workout to be very similar with the various shows clocking in between 271-288 minutes with only two exceptions – “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” at 302 minutes and “WandaVision” at 322 minutes.

LuPone revealed the news on an episode of the Little Gold Men podcast with Vanity Fair (via Collider), saying that “all nine scripts were written before we started filming” whilst discussing the ongoing writers’ strike.

The “Penny Dreadful” and “Beau is Afraid” actress also says she’s already been told off by Marvel after revealing spoilers about her role of Lilia Calderu in the series whilst on “The View” earlier this year. She explains:

“Well, I got in trouble. Marvel security said ‘Patti! No more talking.’ (laughs) They were nice about it because they saw how enthusiastic I am about it. What are they are gonna say? I know they want to keep it under wraps.

But, they didn’t yell at me. Or, he didn’t yell at me. He had a big smile on his face. And I said, ‘Well, what do I say then?’ And he said, ‘You can say that security asked you not to say anything.'”

Kathryn Hahn will reprise her role of Agatha Harkness in the series, which is being handled by “WandaVision” showrunner Jac Schaeffer who is also developing the “VisionQuest” series.

No release date has been announced for the series yet.
