Gilpin’s Roz Is Back For “Frasier” Sequel

NBC

Actress Peri Gilpin will return for the upcoming “Frasier” sequel series on the Paramount+ service.

Gilpin played Frasier Crane’s radio producer Roz Doyle on the long-running NBC series. Here she will reprise her role for a guest appearance.

The new series will find Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) returning to Boston with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two that he may finally get to fulfil.

Gilpin marks the second former cast member to join following Bebe Neuwirth’s return as Frasier’s ex-wife Lilith. When we last saw Roz, she was promoted to station manager as Frasier left Seattle.

The cast also includes Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier and Lilith’s son Freddy, Nicholas Lyndhurst, Toks Olagundoye, Jess Salgueiro and Anders Keith as Frasier’s nephew David.

John Mahoney, who played Frasier’s father in the original, died in 2018 and so won’t be back. David Hyde Pierce, who played Frasier’s brother Niles, says he has not returned. That only leaves Jane Leeves, who isn’t yet attached to the revival.

James Burrows, who helmed more than thirty episodes of the original series, directed the first two episodes of the new take.
