Following the announcement of it yesterday, Nintendo has unveiled the first proper gameplay footage from the highly anticipated “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom”.
That game is a sequel to 2017’s widely acclaimed “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” game which dominated the Game of the Year discussion for its year of releaae.
An epic adventure across the land and skies of Hyrule awaits in ‘Tears’. You’ll decide your own path through the sprawling landscapes of Hyrule and the mysterious islands floating in the vast skies above.
Can you harness the power of Link’s new abilities to fight back against the malevolent forces that threaten the kingdom? Those new abilities include ‘Recall, Ultrahand, Fuse, and Ascend’ which offer players more agency to move around the world.
There’s also a new Switch OLED console coming out to celebrate the game, boasting iconography from the series all over it.
The title is expected to be not just one of the year’s biggest sellers, but very likely the favourite candidate to take this year’s Game of the Year award. “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” hits stores on May 12th.
