Pixar and Disney have premiered the official full trailer for their new animated feature “Elemental” which will premiere in cinemas on June 16th and will be available in 3D.
The story unfolds in Element City, where a host of elements (air, earth, water and fire) live and work. Ember is a quick-witted and fiery woman who has always stayed close to home in Firetown.
Here she finally ventures out of her comfort zone to explore this world of giant pine-tree-like buildings, waterfall skyscrapers, a tornado-shaped arena called Cyclone Stadium and more.
She soon meets a go-with-the-flow guy named Wade who are about to discover something elemental: How much they actually have in common.
The voice cast includes Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie as leading characters Ember and Wade. They’re joined by Ronnie del Carmen as Ember’s soon-to-be retired dad, Bernie; Shila Ommi as Ember’s love-seeking mom, Cinder; Wendi McLendon-Covey as Wade’s stormy and Air-Ball-loving boss, Gale; Catherine O’Hara as Wade’s welcoming mom, Brook; Mason Wertheimer as Ember’s admiring earth neighbor, Clod; and Joe Pera as an overgrown city bureaucrat, Fern.
Peter Sohn (“Partly Cloudy”) directs the film produced by Denise Ream and executive produced by Pete Docter. John Hoberg & Kat Likkel and Brenda Hsueh penned the script from a story by Sohn and the trio. Thomas Newman is handling the score.
