“Reacher,” “Outlander” Seasons Wrap Filming

Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime has wrapped filming on the second season of “Reacher,” the hit action-drama series adaptation of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels. The new run kicked off filming in September last year.

The second season will be based on the eleventh book in the series “Bad Luck and Trouble” in which Reacher investigates the deaths of his friends from his old military unit. Alan Ritchson returns as Jack Reacher, as does Maria Sten as Frances Neagley.

Shaun Sipos, Serinda Swan, Ferdinand Kingsley, Rory Cochrane and Domenick Lombardozzi are among the new season’s cast with Emmy-nominated writer Nick Santora returning as series writer and executive producer.

The show ranked among the steaming platform’s top five most-watched series ever in the U.S. and globally and one of the most-binged original series ever on Prime Video.

The first season was released just over six months after it wrapped production. Should that hold, we could well expect the second season of “Reacher” to arrive sometime this Fall.

That’s not the only show that’s wrapped its filming. Actors Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have posted a photo from a set of Starz’s historical drama “Outlander” which has just wrapped filming an expanded seventh season.

That season will span sixteen episodes and took 220 shooting days to complete with filming having begun back in May last year. It comes ahead of a shorter ten-episode eighth and final season that will go into production at a later date.

The show’s seventh season is expected to premiere this Summer and will see the American Revolutionary War looming in the background as Jamie and Claire try to peacefully live on a homestead in North Carolina.
