True Detective: Night Country
HBO has premiered a new photo from “True Detective: Night Country,” the fourth season of its crime anthology series.
The story will take place in the small town of Ennis, Alaska during the long winter night, when eight men who work operating the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish with no explanation.
Detective Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) have to confront their own dark pasts and hidden truths in order to solve this Arctic mystery.
John Hawkes, Christopher Eccleston, Fiona Shaw, Finn Bennett, Anna Lambe, Aka Niviâna, Isabella Star Lablanc, and Joel D. Montgrand also star.
Issa Lopez will serve as showrunner, writer, and director whilst Barry Jenkins and Cary Joji Fukunaga are among the show’s executive producers. [Source: HBO]
Jump Start
CBS has handed a pilot order for the multi-camera comedy series “JumpStart” based on Robb Armstrong’s long-running comic strip. Wayne Conley (“The Best Man”) pens the TV adaptation.
The story is set in Philadelphia and follows Joe, a cop, his wife Marcy, a nurse, and Joe’s partner Crunchy. Joe and Marcy are young, hip, urban parents with old school values who are willing to sacrifice for their kids and have some laughs while doing it. [Source: Deadline]
Daisy Jones and the Six
Amazon Studios has released the full trailer for the limited drama series “Daisy Jones & the Six” based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s best-selling novel of the same name.
Riley Keough, Sam Claflin and Camila Morrone co-star in the film which deals with the rise of the titular rock band in 1977 as their debut single leads them to fame before they soon call it quits at the height of their fame.
Decades later, the band members finally agree to reveal the truth. The series begins its run on March 3rd and runs every Friday through March 24th on Prime Video.
Lucky Hank
AMC+ has premiered the trailer for “Lucky Hank,” which sees “Breaking Bad” actor Bob Odenkirk return to the network as Professor Hank Devereaux, an English department chairman at an underfunded college who is caught between a midlife crisis and full-blown meltdown.
He must navigate the offbeat chaos in his personal and professional life as he proves tantrums get better with age. The series premieres on March 19th.
