Ishana Night Shyamalan, daughter of director M. Night Shyamalan, is set to make her directorial debut on “The Watchers” which New Line has won in a bidding war.
Shyamalan will write and direct the feature, based on A.M. Shine’s novel about Mina, a 28-year old artist who gets stranded in an expansive and untouched forest in western Ireland.
When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers that are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night.
The younger Shyamalan previously helmed episodes of her father’s Apple TV+ series “Servant” and did second unit directing on his most recent two films “Old” and “Knock at the Cabin”.
M. Night Shymalan, Nimitt Mankad and Ashwin Rajan will produce. “The Watchers” has been scheduled for a release on June 7th 2024.
