Just three weeks after its premiere on the service, Netflix has officially cancelled its live-action adaptation of the iconic anime series “Cowboy Bebop”.

John Cho, Mustafa Shakir and Daniella Pineda starred as three bounty hunters ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals.

The original space western remains a hallmark of the anime genre, but this ten-episode remake launched to dismal reviews from both critics and audiences.

While the series was widely sampled in its initial week, numbers indicate people didn’t stick around.

Netflix held back on revealing any looks at the series until fairly late, but in those last few weeks it hyped up the title pretty well. Insiders suggest the decision was made by balancing the show’s viewership and cost.
