The Halo Infinite Reviews Are In

Reviews are now out for Microsoft’s big exclusive “Halo Infinite” and while they’re not quite at ‘Game of the Year’ style-levels like Microsoft’s other big recent exclusive “Forza Horizon 5,” they’re not far off.

On Metacritic, “Halo Infinite” currently holds an 86/100 on Xbox Series X and an 83/100 on PC. To put that in comparison, the recent ‘Forza’ entry pulled in a 92/100 on Xbox Series X and an 86/100 on PC.

More importantly how does ‘Infinite’ compare to other entries in the “Halo” franchise? The good news is it seems to be on par with “Halo 4” which also scored an 87/100 back in 2012, and an improvement on the 84/100 that “Halo 5: Guardians” received.

The new game is still a bit off from the Bungie-era “Halo” days with the original trilogy and “Halo: Reach” scoring well into the 90s. However a common remark in the game’s reviews is that this is the first title from 343 Industries that has managed to feel nearly on par with Bungie-era “Halo” and is seen as a real return to form.

The reviews come as something of a relief in the wake of last year’s poor reception to the game’s early visuals, and the other two major AAA multiplayer FPS titles of recent times – “Call of Duty: Vanguard” and “Battlefield 2042” that both scored poor reviews compared to their predecessors. ‘Infinite’ seems to have avoided that fate.
