“The Kite Runner” and “United 93” star Khalid Abdalla has been cast as Dodi Fayed, son of billionaire Mohamed Al-Fayed (to be played by Salim Daw), in the upcoming fifth season of Netflix’s “The Crown”.
Dodi Fayed was followed by paparazzi after it was discovered that the Egyptian heir was having a love affair with Diana Spencer, Princess of Wales. Both died in a tragic car crash in Paris in 1997.
Abdalla joins a cast that includes Elizabeth Debicki as Diana, Dominic West as Prince Charles and Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II in the new season which will span the 1990s.
The fifth season is in production with no premiere date having been revealed as yet.
