AMC Studios has confirmed that a series adaptation of Anne Rice’s “Lives of the Mayfair Witches” might be on the way to join their currently casting “Interview With the Vampire” series.

AMC snagged the rights to Rice’s catalog last year and have reportedly opened a writers’ room to explore what this new series could look like. “Masters of Sex” and “John Adams” duo Esta Spaulding and Michelle Ashford will serve as writers and executive producers.

The book trilogy follows an intuitive young neurosurgeon who discovers that she is the heir to a family of witches. Grappling with her newfound powers and identity crisis, she must battle against a deadly force that has haunted her family for generations.

The books also have some crossover with “The Vampire Chronicles” and thus both shows could as well.

Development is already well underway for “Interview with the Vampire” series which recently cast Sam Reid as Lestat in the eight-part series. Rolin Jones (“Perry Mason”) serves as showrunner on that show which premieres in 2022.
