Filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino is attached to direct and Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence is reportedly circling a biopic of famed talent agent Sue Mengers.
Lauren Schuker Blum, Rebecca Angelo and John Logan wrote the script about the female secretary turned 1960s-80s talent agent who crashed the boys club that was Hollywood talent reps.
With her outsized personality to go alongside her client list – one that included the likes of Barbara Streisand, Cher, Gene Hackman, Faye Dunaway, Michael Caine, Nick Nolte, Steve McQueen, Joan Collins, Burt Reynolds, Cybill Shepherd, Gore Vidal among many others – she blazed a trail for many to follow.
Mengers was also known for her devotion to her clients, and landing high salaries for them. Apple and Netflix are reportedly in the mix for the project which is currently being shopped around with one source telling Indiewire the Apple offer in the $80 million range.
