Downton Abbey
Focus Features is delaying the North American release of the “Downton Abbey” sequel from December 22nd to March 18th 2022. The international release is also being moved as a result.
That takes it out of the firing line of a second “Sing,” a third “Kingsman” and a fourth “Matrix” film in December. On its new date, it’s up against feel good Zachary Levi drama “Unbreakable Boy” that week. [Source: Variety]

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has extended invitations for 395 artists and executives working in film to join the ranks of a growing membership.
Among the new class are actors like Steven Yeun, Robert Pattinson, Maria Bakalova, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Vanessa Kirby, Hugh Bonneville, Laverne Cox, Nathan Lane, Henry Golding, Stephen Root, Jonathan Majors, Clea DuVall, Carrie Coon and filmmakers like Nia DaCosta, Florian Zeller, Shaka King, Jonathan Glazer, Emerald Fennell, Lee Isaac Chung, and Cathy Yan. Shelter
Lisa Vidal, Cam Gigandet, Jaina Lee Ortiz, Carlos Miranda and Sasha Merci are attached to star in the crime-action heist feature “Shelter” which will begin shooting shortly in Los Angeles.
The story follows the head of a secret organization who assembles a crew to steal back artwork from a neo-Nazi billionaire oligarch who plundered it during World War II. [Source: Deadline]
Space Jam: A New Legacy
Warners has released a new clip from “Space Jam: A New Legacy” with the clip showing Daffy Duck encouraging Porky Pig to engage in a rap battle against Don Cheadle. The LeBron James and Looney Tunes-led sequel is heading to cinemas and HBO Max on July 16th.
Top Gun: Maverick
A new featurette for “Top Gun: Maverick” is out, this one showcasing Rialto – a camera extension system developed specifically for this movie that enabled director Joseph Kosinski and cinematographer Claudio Miranda to put six cameras in an F-18 Super Hornet fighter jet alongside Tom Cruise. The film opens in cinemas on November 19th.
