“Scream” star Neve Campbell has signed on for a lead role in “The Lincoln Lawyer” series for Netflix.
The high-profile and heavily serialized legal drama is an adaptation of Michael Connelly’s novel and hails from producer David E. Kelley.
Originally set up at CBS with Logan Marshall-Green in the lead role, the network later passed and it instead ended up at the streamer with an entirely new cast.
The series follows Mickey Haller who runs his L.A. law practice out of the back of his Lincoln Town Car. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (“Murder on the Orient Express,” “The Magnificent Seven”) will play Mickey and the story will be based on the second book “The Brass Verdict”.
Campbell will play Maggie McPherson, Mickey’s first ex-wife and a passionately committed Deputy District Attorney. While frequent tensions (both professional and personal) erupt between Mickey and Maggie, underneath it all they still care deeply for one another.
They are also both intensely loyal and loving co-parents to tween-age daughter, Hayley. Campbell previously worked with Netflix on two seasons of “House of Cards”.
