NEON has announced that filming has wrapped on “Rebecca” and “Kill List” director Ben Wheatley’s new pandemic horror feature and have announced the first synopsis for the feature which will be titled “In the Earth”.
The timely story is set in a world that searches for a cure to a disastrous virus as a scientist and park scout venture deep in the forest for a routine equipment run. Through the night, their journey becomes a terrifying voyage through the heart of darkness, the forest coming to life around them.
Joel Fry, Ellora Torchia, Hayley Squires and Reece Shearsmith co-star while Andy Starke produces. A 2021 theatrical launch is planned for the United States.
Wheatley is currently prepping work for the action sequel “Tomb Raider 2” and is slated to direct a sequel to giant shark film “The Meg”.
