Though not official yet, it’s looking like Wes Anderson‘s highly anticipated new film “The French Dispatch” will be arriving about a year after it originally intended.
Searchlight was originally slated to premiere the film at Cannes this year before pushing it to July, then October, and now have moved it back to an unspecified date in 2021.
According to IndieWire, it’s most likely going to skip the awards season this year completely and return to Cannes next May ahead of a world day and date premiere shortly after.
Searchlight remains committed to releasing Venice and TIFF award-winner “Nomadland” this December, and still hasn’t set its plans for a release of Taika Waititi’s soccer-themed “Next Goal Wins”.
