“SpongeBob Squarepants” is officially getting a spin-off series with Nickelodeon developing “The Patrick Star Show” centering on the yellow one’s scene-stealing pink friend.
The series will be a deep dive on Patrick and his family, as the friendly starfish hosts a talk show. The series will introduce several new characters voiced by new actors to the “SpongeBob” underwater universe.
Bill Fagerbakke will continue to voice the character in this second spin-off series coming to Nickelodeon, the other being a CG-animated prequel series titled “Kamp Koral” which is coming to CBS All Access next year. that will follow a ten-year-old SpongeBob during his summer at sleep-away camp.
Nickelodeon president Brian Robbins says he considers the “Spongebob” franchise “our Marvel Universe” and are keen to expand. The show has reigned as the number-one kids animated series on television for the last seventeen years.
