Keegan Allen (“Pretty Little Liars,” “King Cobra”) has been cast as Liam Walker, the younger gay and conservative brother of Jared Padalecki’s Cordell Walker in The CW’s “Walker, Texas Ranger” reboot which is imaginatively titled “Walker”.
Padalecki’s Cordell Walker is a widower and father of two who returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years and goes back to duty alongside Micki (Lindsey Morgan), the only woman in the Texas Rangers service.
Liam was recently promoted to assistant DA and while he and his brother are close, Liam gives his older brother no shortage of tough love. Liam has had to sacrifice his personal life in favor of family duties, which has built up some resentment.
In his brother’s absence though, he has also stepped up to take Walker’s kids under his wing and Liam’s close relationship with Walker’s son and daughter makes Walker slightly jealous.
The show has already received a series order and will air next season. Anna Fricke serves as showrunner.
