“Power Rangers” Reboot Won’t Have Old Cast Cameos

Saban Films and Lionsgate’s upcoming reboot of the “Power Rangers” franchise opens March next year and features a whole new cast of characters taking on the iconic roles from the original 1990s series.

Unlike so many other nostalgia-fuelled remakes of classic properties though, this one will NOT be sporting its original cast members in cameos beyond the already announced Bryan Cranston who takes on the Zordon role in this incarnation.

Actor Walter Jones, who played the original Black Ranger Zack, confirmed to Audibly Exquisite Podcast that he wouldn’t be returning in any capacity for the new film and that none of his fellow original cast had been contacted to return: “It’s not likely. Unfortunately, we were not invited to be part of the film, which is confusing to me, but I’m excited about the film nevertheless.”

The new “Power Rangers” opens March 24th next year.
