The first cast member is onboard for “Star Trek: Discovery” with acclaimed actress Michelle Yeoh set to headline the CBS All Access series. Consulting producer Nicholas Meyer just confirmed the news to Coming Soon saying simply: “I know Michelle Yeoh is in it.”
Although it is unconfirmed at this time, the site speculates that Yeoh’s role is quite likely the series’ lead of a female Lieutenant Commander. It has been previously reported that the series is set within the original timeline of the pre-Abrams films and will take place ten years or so before the events seen in the original 1960s TV series.
Following its May 2017 premiere on the CBS Television Network, all episodes will be available in the U.S. exclusively on CBS All Access and on Netflix globally (aside from North America) within 24 hours of its U.S. screening. “Star Trek: Discovery” is executive produced by Bryan Fuller, Gretchen Berg, Aaron Harberts and Akiva Goldsman.
