New posters and a new featurette have been released for “Weapons” filmmaker Zach Cregger’s new “Resident Evil” film.
In the clip, Cregger talks about his love of survival horror games, and the “Resident Evil” games in particular, and his concept behind the project.
The project tells an original story unrelated to the previous films and inspired by the early video games of the series.
Austin Abrams stars as a package delivery driver tasked with transporting a mysterious case to Raccoon City Hospital during a deadly virus outbreak.
Paul Walter Hauser, Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, and Johnno Wilson co-star in the $80 million-budget film, which has been dubbed a ‘horror version of “Mad Max: Fury Road”‘ and is said to be a very lean 90 minutes and filled with practical effects.
Robert Kulzer, Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan produce the film, which opens September 18th.
