“Spider-Man” and “The Odyssey” star Tom Holland is reportedly set to lead the cast of a film adaptation of Amor Towles’ 2021 novel “The Lincoln Highway”.
The project hails from “The Bear” creator Christopher Storer, who is slated to direct, and “Harry Potter” producer David Heyman.
The period literary drama follows four young men on a ten-day road trip from Nebraska to New York City.
Page Six broke news of the project, which was set up at Warner Bros. Pictures but has not yet been greenlit.
Apparently, studio heads Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy declined to move forward with the project at a budget of $30-40 million, the issue potentially stemming from Warners’ imminent sale to Paramount.
As a result, they have now allowed Strorer and Heyman “to look for a new home” for the film. Rival studios are reportedly already circling.
Holland is expected to be everywhere doing press in late June/July for both “The Odyssey” and “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” both opening in July.
