Jeremy Renner could be geeking it up shortly with a new report indicating he’s in line to play one of the lead characters in the upcoming “Spawn” film at Blumhouse.
That Hashtag Show, who first broke the news of Jamie Foxx’s casting as the titular soldier of hell from the comics, indicates that the “Avengers” actor is apparently up for the role of Detective Twitch Williams.
Twitch teams up with the supernatural antihero to track down his daughter’s killer in the film. “Spawn” creator and the film’s director Todd MacFarlane has indicated in recent years this take on Spawn will use the titular character sparingly with Twitch to essentially serve as the lead.
The project would mark the third major screen adaptation of the character following 1997’s not well-regarded live-action film from New Line, and 1999’s acclaimed HBO adult animated series.
