“Croods 2” Revived For A 2020 Release

About a year ago it was revealed that Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation had seemingly scrapped plans for their sequel to the animated “The Croods”.

Now, nearly a year on the companies confirmed they have revived the project and have set a September 18th 2020 release date. The Oscar-nominated original 2013 comedy followed a prehistoric clan dealing with their changing world and this will continue that story.

Returning stars Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Keener, Cloris Leachman and Clark Duke welcome Leslie Mann to the film’s cast as The Croods face their biggest threat since leaving the cave: another family.

Additionally, the companies have also dated the Jason Blum-produced “Spooky Jack” for a September 17th 2021 release. That follows three kids whose eerie new home includes some squatters – namely fantastical creatures from mischievous leprechauns to a shy Boogeyman.
