Daniel Craig reportedly wants Monica Bellucci to return in the next James Bond movie according to The List.
Bellucci had a small but key role as Lucia Sciarra in “SPECTRE,” the widow of an assassin for the sinister organisation whom Bond killed in the opening sequence.
Sentenced to death by SPECTRE, Bond saves her from execution and then somewhat forcefully seduces her. She’s last seen with Bond telling her to meet with CIA agent Felix Leiter who will put her some place safe.
At the time of filming “Spectre”, Craig was 47 and Bellucci was 51 which made her the oldest Bond girl to date, albeit one very age appropriate for Craig. Her role was only small though with then 30-year-old Lea Seydoux becoming the film’s main Bond girl.
Craig is coming back as 007 for one final outing and he is reportedly keen for Bellucci, 53, to reprise her role opposite him. A source tells The Mirror Online: “He wants Monica Bellucci back, that’s for sure.”
A source for the paper also says: “Bond needs to keep up with the times and will be looking into Elon Musk’s world, spacecrafts, planes that can fly across the earth in an hour, cars turning into submarines. That’s what we need to include now. Daniel’s stunts are going to move to a new level… He’s involved every step of the way, as he always is, and he’s bursting with enthusiasm and excitement.”
The next Bond film is reportedly aiming to begin filming sometime next year for a late 2019 release.
