“Tormented Souls” Game Coming To Film & TV

Dual Effect

ZQ Entertainment, Prime Universe Films and Longevity Pictures have landed the film and television rights to developer Dual Effect’s “Tormented Souls” indie video game franchise.

The story unfolds inside the decaying halls of the abandoned Wildberger Hospital. Caroline Walker searches for missing twin girls and is pulled into a nightmare of grotesque experiments, supernatural forces and terrifying secrets.

The work was originally released on Steam by developer Dual Effect and publisher PQube Games before expanding onto PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

ZQ will finance the development and co-finance the production, with Adrian Askarieh, Ara Keshishian, Majd Nassif, Petr Jakl, Gabriel Araneda Quijada and Germán Araneda Quijada all set to produce.

ZQ’s Ara Keshishian and Petr Jakl say in a statement: “The game creates genuine dread while telling a compelling emotional story. Our goal is to honor everything fans love while delivering a terrifying cinematic experience worthy of the franchise.”

The producers have not yet confirmed if a film or TV series will come first but there are serious franchise plans for the property.
