Noah Hawley In Talks To Direct “Star Trek 4”

Paramount Pictures is reportedly in final talks with “Fargo” and “Legion” creator and showrunner Noah Hawley to write and direct the next “Star Trek” film which he’ll also produce through his 26 Keys production banner alongside J.J. Abrams for Bad Robot.

Deadline broke the news, indicating Hawley’s film won’t be a reboot or standalone, rather the fourth film in the current iteration of the film franchise with the Enterprise crew led by Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban.

Hawley made his feature film directorial debut on “Lucy in the Sky” this past Fall which had a high profile premiere but bombed with bad reviews – a rare creative flop for Hawley who is currently in production on the fourth season of “Fargo”.

The next Trek will follow on from 2016’s “Star Trek Beyond” helmed by Justin Lin and how this may impact Quentin Tarantino’s talked about but not particularly progressed standalone “Star Trek” film is not clear.
