“Guardians of the Galaxy” star Pom Klementieff has been set to join Tom Cruise in Christopher McQuarrie’s upcoming seventh and eighth “Mission: Impossible” films at Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media.
McQuarrie himself broke the news, indicating the French actress will portray a femme fatale character. She marks the second MCU star to join the cast following the casting of Agent Peggy Carter herself actress Hayley Atwell.
They join fellow returnees Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames. The most recent film, ‘Fallout,’ scored both the highest reviews for the franchise and the largest gross with over $790 million worldwide.
The two “Mission: Impossible” films are set to premiere in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
