New details have emerged regarding “Scapegoat,” the next feature of “Hereditary” and “Midsommar” director Ari Aster which will star Scarlett Johansson.
Nexus Point News reports that Johansson will star as a surgeon tasked to operate on a Jake Paul-inspired character who dies during the surgery.
The story then follows the fallout of his death and the scrutiny the surgeon will face from the main antagonists, the character’s wife and brother. Those characters will also allegedly be inspired by Erika Kirk and Logan Paul respectively.
Aster penned the script and will direct and produce alongside Lars Knudsen. It marks Aster’s fifth film with A24 following the aforementioned two plus “Beau is Afraid” and “Eddington”.
He and Kudsen also recently produced “Dream Scenario,” “Bugonia” and “The Drama”.
Johansson recently wrapped production on Mike Flanagan’s new “The Exorcist” film, will shortly begin production on “The Batman: Part II,” and then will shoot “Scapegoat” later this year.
A “Jurassic World: Rebirth” sequel is also said to be in the works.
