Having done some location filming in Hawaii, production has now kicked off this week on Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Entertainment’s “Godzilla vs. Kong” at Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast, Australia.
Adam Wingard (“You’re Next,” “The Guest”) helms the project which pits the King of the Monsters and the giant ape against each other, with humanity caught in the balance.
The same studio was used to film both “Aquaman” and “Kong: Skull Island,” the latter being the second in a quartet of interlinked films with “Godzilla vs. Kong” being the last of the group. Most of the film’s production will take place there with actors Millie Bobby Brown, Alexander Skarsgard and Eiza Gonzalez to star.
“Godzilla vs. Kong” opens in May next year and will follow on from Mike Dougherty’s already fully complete “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” which opens this May.
