Activision has revealed in its latest trailer that Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen will play The Archer, the villain of the upcoming title “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4” which releases October 23rd.
In the new game, war wages between North and South Korea while Ghost’s group is assigned to take out Captain Price who has gone rogue.
Last year’s “Call of Duty: Black Ops 7” made headlines for underperforming both critically and financially, and was outsold by “Battlefield 6”.
Meanwhile, “IT” star Bill Skarsgård will reportedly headline Hideo Kojima’s upcoming action-espionage game “Physint”. The casting announcement was made during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast.
The reveal came with a poster of a blonde-haired Skarsgård alongside his co-star and the tsgline “The Next Cold War Begins”. Don Lee and Minami Hamabe have supporting roles.
Kojima confirms in a statement that “the costume fittings, scans, and camera tests we conducted with Bill and Charlee [Fraser] earlier this year gave me tremendous confidence in the direction of the project.”
The creator initially planned the game for PlayStation but PlayStation opted out of the project earlier this month, and Xbox subsequently stepped in as the new publishing partner.
