A third film in the “Smile” franchise is reportedly in the works with Dread Central confirming it, while The InSneider is reporting that franchise creator and director Parker Finn may not return.
The two previous films made $217 million and $137 million respectively. Finn is currently working on a remake of 1981’s “Possession” with Margaret Qualley and Callum Turner in talks to star.

“Sinners” and “One Battle After Another” took the top honours at the 78th annual WGA Awards ceremony on Sunday, the Writers’ Guild awarding them for Best Original Screenplay and Best Adapted Screenplay, respectively, in the film categories.
“The Pitt” dominated TV which won for Drama Series, Episodic Drama and New Series, while “The Studio” took Comedy Series, “The Righteous Gemstones” won Episodic Comedy, and “Dying for Sex” won Limited Series. [Source: WGA]
Untitled Linda Ronstadt Biopic
Miramax has reportedly acquired the upcoming biopic about 1970s music icon Linda Ronstadt which will star “Only Murders in the Building” actress/singer Selena Gomez as the acclaimed singer of such songs as “Blue Bayou,” “Long Long Time,” “You’re No Good,” “It’s So Easy,” “Somewhere Out There” and “When Will I Be Loved”.
James Keach penned the screenplay for the film with Gomez reportedly spending weeks at Ronstadt’s home researching the role. At last report, David O. Russell was slated to direct the project. [Source: World of Reel]
Jennifer Runyon Corman
Jennifer Runyon Corman, an actress best known for Bill Murray’s memorable ‘psychic card testing’ scene in the original “Ghostbusters” as well as playing Scott Baio’s girlfriend in the early episodes of “Charles in Charge,” has died after a brief battle with cancer. She was 65.
Corman racked up film and TV credits starting in 1980 with credits on shows including “The Fall Guy,” “Quantum Leap,” “Boone,” “Magnum, P.I.,” “Murder She Wrote” and “Beverly Hills, 90210” along with the telemovie “A Very Brady Christmas”. [Source: Instagram]
