This morning’s Apple TV Press Day saw the cast of “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” take to the stage to unveil the official full trailer for the second season of the Monsterverse series.
Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett and Anders Holm all star in the new ten-episode second season run, which airs its first episode on Friday, February 27th, before weekly drops through until Friday, May 1st.
Season two will pick up with the fate of Monarch – and the world – hanging in the balance. The dramatic saga reveals buried secrets that reunite our heroes (and villains) on Kong’s Skull Island, and a new, mysterious village where a mythical Titan rises from the sea.
The ripple effects of the past make waves in the present day, blurring the bonds between family, friend and foe — all with the threat of a titan event on the horizon.
The second season will feature Kong, Godzilla and introduce a new Titan in the form of the enigmatic and massive bioluminescent Titan X that is now officially on the loose. The creature stands at the center of the mystery – an ancient force emerging from the deep, its purpose uncertain, its power unmatched, its awe and terror in equal measure.
Second season guest stars include Takehiro Hira, Amber Midthunder, Curtiss Cook, Cliff Curtis, Dominique Tipper and Camilo Jiménez Varón.
Chris Black serves as showrunner and executive produces alongside Joby Harold, Tory Tunnell, Jen Roskind, Matt Shakman, Andrew Colville, Lawrence Trilling, Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita.
Apple also confirmed multiple series set within the Monsterverse are in development, the first being the untitled prequel with Wyatt Russell reprising his role as Colonel Lee Shaw.
