Netflix Sets “Clue” Competition Series

Paramount Pictures

Netflix has announced plans for a competition series based on the iconic murder mystery board game “Clue”.

The series will feature a group of contestants dealing with physical and mental challenges to collect clues before entering a real-life game of deduction and deception.

To win, they’ll have to outwit opponents and identify the who, where, and with what of the crime. Those who guess right add money to the prize pot; those who guess wrong may be eliminated.

Familiar suspects such as Miss Scarlett, Colonel Mustard, Professor Plum and Mrs. Peacock are involved in the actions.

Sony Pictures landed the rights to the “Clue” franchise last year and its Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC) and B17 Entertainment developed the series alongside Hasbro Entertainment/

Clue has sold more than 150 million copies of its board game since its launch in 1949. The project was adapted into the famed 1985 cult comedy classic, but various attempts to reboot it since then have been met with failure.

The property has been adapted into a whodunnit game show format before for both British and Australian television.
