A new remaster of CD Projekt Red’s “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” has been announced by the developer, with the upgrade to be freely available from next month.
It marks the fourth major post-release update for the 2015 game following a 2016 major patch and the 2022 ‘Complete Edition’ release, which added some remastering and upgrades to things like the visuals.
This promises to go much further with plenty of visual upgrades, both previous expansions, and more quality-of-life fixes.
These include such things as: cross-platform mod support, updated textures
and improvements to the UI, HDR and accessibility features, along with updated graphics.
Announced during Opening Night Live at Gamescom, further confirmed refinements include enhanced combat, enhanced traversal, and new SFX for certain powers, along with a majorly overhauled combat system.
“The Witcher 3 Remastered” will be released on September 29th on all platforms, and for the first time on BattleNet, with players who bought the base version of the game getting the free upgrade.
Also coming in 2027 is a new expansion – Songs of the Past – which is not being included.
