Filmmaker and DC Studios chief James Gunn has confirmed that filming has wrapped on his “Superman” sequel “Man of Tomorrow”.
In a recent Threads post, Gunn says principal photography is complete: “That’s a wrap on principal photography for Man of Tomorrow. Truly a joyful experience and I have immense gratitude to my cast and crew.”
He posted photos of some crew assembled, and a shot of Nicholas Hoult in a lake that the actor was swimming in on location for the final scenes to be shot.
The photo has fans already speculating that Lex ends up in Salvation, the forested prison dimension seen in the second season of “Peacemaker”.
Gunn also confirmed that the film took 93 days to shoot, one day more than “Superman”.
David Corenswet returns as Superman alongside Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor while Lars Eidinger is the film’s villain Brainiac.
There’s also returnees like Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Neva Howell (Martha Kent) Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Frank Grillo (Rick Flagg Sr.) and Milly Alcock (Supergirl) among others.
Also on board are Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, Xolo Maridueña as Blue Beetle, Matthew Lillard, Andre Royo, Sinqua Walls, and Adria Arjona in a mystery role that may be Maxima or Wonder Woman.
“Man of Tomorrow” is set to release worldwide on July 9th 2027.
