Warners Delays “Dune: Part Two” To 2024

Warner Bros. Pictures

Warner Bros. Pictures has delayed multiple films on its schedule with the big one being Legendary Entertainment and Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated sequel “Dune: Part Two”.

The film, which was to open November 3rd, is now being pushed back to March 15th 2024 due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. The film will also play in IMAX on its new date.

As a result of the shift, “Dune: Part Two is taking over the “Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire” release slot – pushing that film to April 12th next year.

The shift is having a domino effect as the animated film “Lord of the Rings The War of Rohirrim” has also been pushed/. That film is moving from that April 12th slot to December 13th 2024.

Warners isn’t shaking up their December release calendar however with “Wonka” on December 15th, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” on December 20th, and “The Color Purple” on December 25th all still holding their dates.

As a result of the move, Disney/Marvel Studios may move up “The Marvels” movie by a week to take advantage of the availability of IMAX screens left behind by the departure of “Dune: Part Two”.
