Netflix has released the full trailer for its animated action-adventure fantasy series “Skull Island” which is set within Legendary’s MonsterVerse franchise alongside the likes of “Godzilla vs. Kong”.
The story begins as a group of kind-hearted explorers rescues a mysterious young girl named Annie from the ocean, unaware that their act of heroism will lead them to the treacherous Skull Island.
This enigmatic place is home to bizarre giant creatures and terrifying monsters, including the legendary titan himself, King Kong. They also learn the girl was raised in the island wilds and has befriended the native beasts.
The voice cast includes Nicolas Cantu (“The Fabelmans”) as Charlie, Mae Whitman (“Family Guy”) as Annie, Benjamin Bratt as Cap (“Poker Face”), Betty Gilpin (“Mrs. Davis”) as Irene and Darren Barnett (“Never Have I Ever”) as Mike.
The series hails from “Love and Monsters” filmmaker Brian Duffield who serves as writer and executive producer. Jacob Robinson, Brad Graeber, Jen Chambers, and Thomas Tull also executive produce.
Powerhouse Animation (“Castlevania,” “Blood of Zeus”) is handling the animation for “Skull Island” which will be available for streaming on June 22nd.
