“Reacher” and “Fast X” star Alan Ritchson is sticking with Amazon Studios, hopping on board the holiday family comedy feature “The Man with the Bag,” which is currently in development.
“Disenchanted” and “Bringing Down the House” helmer Adam Shankman will direct from Allan Rice’s script that begins in the wake of Santa’s magic bag of gifts being stolen.
Santa is forced to turn to his naughty list to recruit Vance (Ritchson), a charming former thief fresh out of prison who is trying to go straight and spend a normal crime-free Christmas with his family.
Instead, Vance along with his daughter and a group of misfit elves, will have to pull off the greatest heist of his life to save Christmas.
Ritchson, Lawrence Grey, Ben Everard, Reg Tigerman and Dan Spilo produce. The film is one of the titles in a three-picture film deal Ritchson has with Amazon.
Former “Titans” and “Smallville” alum Ritchson recently wrapped production on both a second season of “Reacher” and Guy Ritchie’s WWII film “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare”. He’ll next be seen with Hilary Swank in “Ordinary Angels” which is opening October 13th.
