Following their confirmations yesterday of receiving series orders, CBS has premiered the first trailers for two of its three new series set to arrive this Fall – “Matlock” and “Elsbeth”.
“Matlock” is a reboot of the famed series of the same name, though from the trailer it suggests “Matlock” is also a series set within this universe.
Kathy Bates plays a brilliant septuagenarian who rejoins the workforce at a prestigious law firm and uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases and expose corruption from the inside.
Skye P. Marshall, Jason Ritter, David Del Rio and Leah Lewis co-star. Bates, Kat Coiro, Jennie Snyder Urman, Joanna Klein, Eric Christian Olsen and John Will executive produce.
“Elsbeth” is the third series in Robert and Michelle King’s “Good Wife” franchise, with this one focusing on Carrie Preston’s Emmy award-winning portrayal of fan-favorite character Elsbeth Tascioni.
This sees the astute but unconventional attorney moving from Chicago to New York, where she uses her singular point of view to make unique observations and corner brilliant criminals alongside the NYPD.
Jonathan Tolins will serve as showrunner on the series which also stars Wendell Pierce and Carra Patterson.
