Netflix has premiered the trailer for its three-part documentary series “Arnold” which chronicles never before seen footage & stories of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s journey from rural Austria to achieving the concept of the ‘American dream’.
The series claims to offer “unprecedented access to the most candid interviews from Schwarzenegger, his friends, foes, co-stars, and observers.”
Charting his journey from athlete to his Hollywood success and then governing the state of California, the series examines how he upended each industry he worked in – achieving professional success.
At the same time, it also looks at his joyful and turbulent family life and how his larger-than-life persona meshes with all his endeavours, along with his private turmoil.
One interesting element here is Schwarzenegger is not listed in any producer capacity so it will hopefully not be a puff piece selling the brand of Arnold as opposed to a meaningful exploration of the man and his legacy. The project hails from the team behind the HBO docuseries “The Defiant Ones” which bodes well for its pedigree.
“Arnold” debuts on the streaming service on June 7th, just two weeks after his new eight-episode action-comedy series “FUBAR” releases on the same platform on May 25th.
