Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow died in “Avengers: Endgame,” though the actress came back in Marvel’s Phase Four for her own solo adventure set earlier in the timeline.

With the multiverse in play in future Marvel Studios films, the possibility is certainly there for Black Widow to make an appearance. However, it sounds like Johansson herself has no interest.

Appearing in an interview with Gwyneth Paltrow on The Goop Podcast, the actresses spoke about their time in the MCU and whether they would return.

Describing Avengers as like “adult summer camp” and enjoying it at that time of her life – “I was like 26 years old. I was single, it was fun”. Now though, she says she’s done and that part of her life is over:

“I’m done. Chapter is over. I kind of did all that I had to do. Also, coming back and playing a character again and again like that over a decade of time, is such a unique experience… [Kevin Feige] is such a lover of cinema, storytelling. He really is a fan.”

Johansson also shut down rumors of a feud with Paltow on the set of “Iron Man 2” saying:

“You were so nice to me on that movie. I was so petrified. You were so nice to me! You could’ve been awful. I was so out of my comfort zone on that movie. I’d never done anything like that before. Plus, you had established such deep friendships.”

Johansson then asked whether Paltrow was herself done with Marvel films, to which the actress said she couldn’t rule out a return as her character lives: “I think so. I mean, I didn’t die so they can always ask me.” Johansson responded:

“I think you may come back at some point… 100% that’s happening. I can see it. They’re never gonna let you go. Break out that wig, baby.”

Johansson famously filed a lawsuit over “Black Widow”, which was delayed amid the pandemic and then simultaneously released in theatres and on the Disney+ service.
